A Message from Ms. Vardoumian

Dear Valerio Families,

I am honored to be the principal of Valerio Street Elementary School. I would like to introduce myself to you. I have had more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in Los Angeles Unified School District. I have experience as a Parent Volunteer, Paraprofessional, Teacher, Title I Coordinator, EL Coordinator, Bridge Coordinator, Assistant Principal EIS, Principal of Lemay Early Education Center, Principal of Noble Early Education Center, Principal of Saticoy ES and currently as the Principal of Valerio Street Elementary School.

I have come from a family of educators who highly valued education and always put it forward. I have worked with children of various ages, skills and abilities for over 20 years and truly enjoyed every moment of my career. The most essential part of my educational experience has always been the intent to make a difference in children’s lives.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development from California State University, Northridge and a Master in Educational Administration from National University, Sherman Oaks. I have a Clear Professional Multi-Subject Teaching Credential and an Administrative Service Credential, and I am fluent in Armenian and Russian.

My philosophy is that every child is very unique and every child has the potential to be successful. I strongly believe in teamwork in which every team member contributes and shares her/his valuable knowledge, experience, and best practices to ensure that all team members are successful. I hold high expectations for teachers and students. I also firmly believe that parent involvement is the key component to overall student achievement.

Warm regards,

Anait Vardoumian
